Outsourced CMP for rapid development and efficient manufacturing

Device foundries around the world have clearly demonstrated that they can successfully provide both outsourced technology development and volume production of advanced semiconductor devices. Two of the factors that contribute to successful outsourcing are (i) distributing the enormous cost of technology development across a broad customer base, and (ii) leveraging production economies of scale. Similar advantages can now be realized at the CMP process module level.
