The wetting wettability of Cu, 85Cu-15Ni alloys on 18NiO-NiFe_2O_4 composite ceramics was investigated by a sessile drop method. The contact angles of the two metal systems on the ceramic matrix were measured in various temperatures with time. The results show that 85Cu-15Ni alloy exhibits a better wetting ability on 18NiO-NiFe_2O_4 composite ceramics than that of Cu. With introducing lwt% MnO_2 into the 18NiO-NiFe_2O_4 composite ceramic substrates, the wettability between Cu, 85Cu-15Ni alloy(s) and substrate is improved. In addition, the morphology of metal/ceramic interface is observed by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Observation of 85Cu-15Ni alloy /ceramic interface shows a good solubility between Cu and Ni in the droplet, and partial Cu diffused into the NiFe_2O_4 substrates.
