摘要

This model represents a first step in the process of modeling VSM cell mechanics in three-dimensions. The results of our preliminary simulations suggest that, as a cell contracts, stress fiber assembly is concentrated between adhesions, and at both the top and bottom of the cell's nucleus.This model will be further refined to determine the effects of exerting a cell to both cyclic and static stretch. Furthermore, the geometry of the cell will be altered such that its new geometry is more representative of an actual vascular smooth muscle cell.
