An in-vivo FE pelvis model of a 50th percentile male was developed and validated against experimental data. Inaccurate cortical thickness of the in-vivo pelvic bone was corrected by mapping the thickness from a cadaver study using the methods described. The results of quasi-static and dynamic impact simulation agreed well with experimental data. The cortical thickness mapping technique may be useful when developing other in-vivo FE bone models, where cadaver scan data are available.
