Removal of NO_2 from a simulated flue gas stream was conducted using PTFE hollow fibers in a gas-liquid membrane contacting system. The NO_2 removal efficiencies and mass transfer rates of the membrane system was examined on the basis of gas and liquid cross flow velocities, and feed gas concentration. The removal efficiency of the membrane system increased by increasing the liquid phase velocity. Increasing the feed gas concentration had a positive impact on the mass transfer rates of the membrane system.
