Inhibiting and Bactericidal Effects of Four Urban Forest Tree Species in Yinchuan

Using natural sedimentation method, this paper measured and comprised the bactericidal effect and its effective distance of four urban forest tree species: Syringa oblate, Prunus triloba, Rosa xanthiana, Cornus alba. The result showed that four tree species all showed strong inhibiting and bactericidal effect, but the effects were different with species. For example, the bactericidal ratio of Cornus alba was 52%, and the bactericidal ratio of Syringa oblate was 44%; while for Prunus triloba and Rosa xanthiana,the ratios were 41% and 42% respectively. It indicated that the effective range of bacteriostasis for four urban tree species were difference, and the effective range for Cornus alba and Syringa oblate was between 1.5 meters to 3 meters, but for Prunus triloba and Rosa xanthiana was between 3 meters to 5 meters.
