When there is a certain air gap in the internal of AC contactor, Sometimes in order to reduce the energy caused by magnetic loss of electromagnetic ring, there is a layer in the ring of ferromagnetic materials or coil.that is a shading coil, this paper, by taking Model CJ20-2S AC contactor as an example and through simulating with the software Maxwell 3D, provides analysis and study with respect to the effect of AC contact with or without shading coil on the electromagnetic attraction under condition of a certain air gap and the effect of different parameters of the shading coil on minimum attraction in the case of shading coil provided.
