COMMUNITY-BASED WATER RESILIENCY: A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO WATER PREPAREDNESS

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has launched the Community-Based Water Resiliency initiative to helpcommunities better understand their interdependencies with the Water Sector, and increase resiliency through enhanceddialogue and collaboration. This manuscript describes the goals of Community-Based Water Resiliency, as well as many ofthe components of the initiative. For example, the Community-Based Water Resiliency electronic tool, which was releasedin April of 2011, provides over 300 resources for utilities and community partners to increase preparedness.
