Exploring the stability and stratification of journal Mutual Citation Network of Library and Information Science in China

摘要

This paper aims to analyze the stability and stratification of Mutual Citation Network (MCN) of Chinese Library and Information Science (LIS) journals. Using the citation data of 18 core LIS journals from 1999–2009, the MCN of sample journals was constructed, and then its centralization, fragmentation coefficient, heterogeneity coefficient and subgroups were measured. The results reveal that this network is vulnerable and its vertexes can be grouped into four classes.
