Wireless charging is an emerging trend for mobile and portable devices with initial products appearing in the market, providing significant user convenience. Magnetic resonance based charging is a technique that provides support for charging multiple receivers with the same transmitter. However, it suffers from the issue of peak splitting due to coupling from neighboring receivers, reducing in significant power transfer loss (> 10 dB). We propose novel tuning algorithms along with communication support to eliminate the coupling loss. We provide methods for charging multiple receivers simultaneously where the tuning can be done at the transmitter only allowing simple, low complexity receiver designs such as mobile phones that do not need highly accurate tuning for magnetic resonance.
