The new generation of GE’s Jenbacher gas engines – highest efficiency with two stage turbo charging

A new generation of two stage turbocharged gas engines, using groundbreakingcombustion processes established a new engine range within GE Jenbacher`s portfolio.This engine can be optimally adapted to power generation in moderate climates,cogeneration of heat and power, applications at tropical conditions and even greenhousesfertilisation (CO2).With electrical efficiencies of 48.7% respectively over-all efficiencies of over 90% and highflexibility towards operating conditions and fuels even the strictest global emission limitsare met under all conditions.The significant increase of efficiency is enabled utilising new combustion processes andconcepts of ignition, allowing an increase of BEMP and lean burn limits. Thanks to theprogressive Miller valve timing knock limits and nitrigon oxide emissions can be reducedsignificantly.
