A GBT-based formulation for the dynamic analysis of high-speed bridge decks, accounting for local and global vibrations, is presented. This formulation is applied to investigate the dynamic behaviour of the El Genii viaduct, which is already in operation on the Spanish Cordoba-Malaga high-speed railway line and comprises a series of identical simply supported box girder pre-stressed concrete decks carrying two tracks. It is shown that the "doubly modal" GBT analyses involve just a few degrees of freedom and make it possible to acquire a deeper insight into the mechanics of the deck structural response.
