Incidents of water transportation of dangerous goods occurring frequently, causes severe damages such as casualties, property damage and environmental pollution, etc. In fact, most of the incidents are due to lack of awareness of prevention practitioners and technical measures as well as exact supervision. A water transportation management system of dangerous goods based on RFID/GPS/GIS was designed to overcome the disadvantage of the current water transportation management. Its components, working procedure and core module were analyzed. The system can monitor the situation of dangerous goods such as their temperature, humidity and pressure, etc through wireless networks. In addition, the system can automatically identify the vessels carrying dangerous goods and supervise them anytime. In this way, the safety of dangerous goods can be ensured with the perfect management system. The idea has been designed based, on the example of a ship carrying dangerous goods entering or leaving the port. It has been used in the application of the dangerous goods water transportation management.
