CITY OF LOS ANGELES REHABILITATION OF AN 1,800 FT. LONG, 3-BARREL, 78-IN. DIAMETER INVERTED SIPHON USING CIPP LINER

The City of Los Angeles North Outfall Sewer (NOS) was built in the 1920's and includes a three barrel,78-inch diameter 1,800-foot long inverted siphon. The inverted siphon barrels were rehabilitated in July/August 2008 using an inverted Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) liner,completing the largest CIPP project in the history of the City of Los Angeles.The inverted siphon passes beneath the San Diego Freeway and the entrance is adjacent to the Fox Hills mall.The seven layer felt tube was wet out at the job site. Due to the size of the liner it had to be transported in sections and was seamed together prior to installation. Following inversion the liner was cured using hot water.
