This study intends to analyze the influence of the experimental shear test procedure on the mechanical behavior of notched timber-concrete joints. To that end a database was build, based on a literature survey, identifying the type of shear test and the type of tested connection, among others factors. A set of experimental tests were performed using three notch dimensions and two different notch materials. A numerical FEM model was developed in order to characterize the behavior of this type of joint. Double-shear tests and metal connectors were found to be the most used configurations. When tested, this joint showed high strength and stiffness, presenting brittle behavior too. Numerical modeling allowed a good approximation to the linear-elastic behavior of the joint and modulus of elasticity of timber showed to be the parameter with most influence in the joint stiffness.
