ELECTRIC CARS IN BRAZIL: A METHOD FOR ASSESSING INNOVATION IMPACTS ON THE ECONOMY

The adoption of the electric car as an alternative for private transport is becoming a strong possibility. Most, if not all, major car manufacturers in the world already have either their own prototypes or are already starting to offer commercial models in the market. Although as a product no major changes can be pointed out - they still are cars - the changes in transmission gears, energy consumed and manufacturing processes are profound. This work presents a methodology to quantify these impacts, both in what concerns technological and economic issues.
