The problems about load control system of combine and its hardware implementation are discussed. The load control system based on intellignent fuzzy control is set up. The controller is simulated on MATLAB/SIMULINK. A hardware implementation about load control system of combine based on VHDL and FPGA is proposed. According to top-down mode, the VHDL modular design of the controller is carried out, including fuzzification, fuzzy reasoning, control quantity gained. Time simulation and function simulation of the fuzzy controller proceed on MAX+PLUSII, and the design is realized on a piece of EPF10K10LC84-3 device. The results indicate that the load control system of combine using fuzzy control has a better dynamic characteristic and robustness. FPGA implementation of its controller has many advantages, timing test is facility, inference speed is fast, system integration is high. It is a efficient method to implement intelligent control strategy.
