The Electric-Bag Complex Dust Collector (EBCDC) is being widely used for dust removal of flue gas from the coal-fired power station boiler. Electrostatic precipitator (ESP), as a pre-collector, has a certain effect on the post-baghouse. In this paper, systematic experiments are done to study the effect of the filtration resistance, the formation of dust cake and the cleaning process of baghouse unit during the electric field voltage changing in ESP unit. The results show that the reduction in pressure drop is due to the fluffy dust cake formed by charged dust particles, which slows down the rising rate of filtration resistance. Therefore, the extending of cleaning cycle may slow down the filter bag's fatigue caused by the frequent injection cleaning, extend the lifetime of filter media, and reduce running cost of the EBCDC.
