In this work, carbon nanotube (CNT) in anodized alumina templates electrode is developed as a new electrochemical electrode for salbutamol sensing application. Its electrochemical sensing performance is evaluated for salbutamol detection by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) measurement. Electrochemical characterization by DPV has been carried out with different concentrations ranging from 5×10-5 to 10-4 mol.l-1. DPV curves show irreversible oxidation peak at ~0.58 V. The amperometric response is linear with a high sensitivity of 0.043 A/mol l-1 and a minimum detection of ~2×10-5 mol.l-1. The electrochemical sensing performance of CNT in AAO templates are found to be significantly better than CNTs grown with no AAO template with sharper reaction peaks and lower minimum detection limits. Thus, electrode is a potential candidate for the electrochemical electrode for salbutamol detection.
