A suggested approach to study variability of impact hardness strength inheterogeneous rock materials

In the present research the procedure for determining Rock Impact HardnessNumber (R.I.H.N.) is being investigated. Experiments were carried out on marbleand sandstone specimens, by using the earlier original procedure and a modifiedmethod. The preliminary results of the research indicate that the suggested approachis advantageous when it is necessary to better understand the variability of strengthvalues in heterogeneous rock materials.
