The invention concerns a method of measuring tensile strength, compression strength and hard rocks impact strength, consisting in collecting from a orogen shapeless fragments of rock, preparation of samples from collected fragments of rock, subjecting the samples to measurement of speed of ultrasonic longitudinal and transverse waves and determining seeming density, characterised in that shapeless fragments of rock collected from an orogen four facets are made, pairs of which are parallel in two mutually perpendicular directions, and thus semi-shaped samples are subjected to known measurements of speed of ultrasonic longitudinal and transverse waves and determining the seeming density, following which the tensile strength is calculated depending onIMAGEwhere Rro - calculated tensile strength in MPa, Rrw - model tensile strength for a given deposit in MPa, e - Napierian base, H - acoustic module in Pa, which is a product of ultrasonic speed of longitudinal wave, ultrasonic speed of transverse wave and seeming density, Hw - model acoustic module for a given deposit in Pa.
