High Order Differential Feedback Controller and Its Application in Servo Control System of NC Machine Tools

PID control is widely used in process control. But the method of extracting differential signal is so simple that the extracted bad differential signals do not adapt to the high quality requirement. Based on this, the paper presents the high order differentiator (HOD) that does not rely on the model of the plant and can extract high-quality differential signal and its high order differential signals. Then the paper also presents the high order differential feedback controller (HODFC) based on HOD and applies it to servo control system of NC machine tools. Simulation and experiment show that high order differentiator and high order differential feedback controller based on HOD has better effect and robustness than PID, and its parameters are tuned easily. All the traits denote HOD and HODFC based on HOD have practicability and feasibility.
