In the water conservancy and hydropower engineering, it is very important for the lectotype design of hydraulic turbine to acquire the mathematic description of the engineering curve exactly in order to get the vectorization of all operating mode parameter. A data compression was presented that based on the non-uniform cubic B-spline fitting algorithm for ordered data points obtained by the vectorization tracking of the curve. One pixel, the minimum unit of the computer screen, was taken as the error evaluation. The fitting error was controlled by self-adaptive addition of new nodes. It has achieved the data compression after the curve vectorization, and offered credible parameter assurance for lectotype design.
