This study is related to a transient flux quantification produced by an argon gas created by an electric arc on a carbon anode. The basis of the theoretical study is presented with the assumptions. This theoretical study is essential to test the mathematical method which will be used with the experimental temperature measurements. A parametric study is realized to study the method validity in transient state including noise. The first results are presented allowing obtaining the temperature field in the material and the flux applied at its surface from the temporal variation of the temperature in two points. Experimentally a thermograph camera is also used to quantify the transient flux.
