New biological technology was investigated for treating sweater wastewater from a sweater plant of Guangdong Jiangmen by the combination of hydrolytic acidification reactor with biological contact oxidation. The experiments of researching the variety rules of pH and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) with HRT (Hydraulic Retention Time) in the anaerobic reactor indicated that the HRT of anaerobic reaction shouldn’t exceed 8 hours, HRT 4-8 hours was appropriate. It was adequate to acquire high efficiency when the rate of media filling of anaerobic reactor was more than 1:9. In the aerobic experiments, the COD decreased from 250 mg/L to 60mg/L after 8 hours anaerobic reaction and 6 hours aerobic reaction. SBBR (Sequencing Batch Bio-film Reactor) can remove phosphorus effectively, and the total phosphorus content could be decreased to less than 0.5mg/L after 2 hours aerobic reaction. In conclusion, the optimal HRT is 4-8 hours hydrolytic acidification and 6-8 hours aerobic reaction.
