Study on Organization Structure of Programme Management Based on Information Entropy

As China's economy grows fast, more and more largescale projects are launched. Large-scale projects, normally consist of several or even dozens of subprojects, are in fact multi-program featured with long construction period and significant complexion. Therefore, the construction management of large-scale projects are very challenging. The execution of large-scale projects involves the owner, consultants, designers, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. The large-scale project gets fast development in China, and the common organization structures of project management can not meet the need of programme management increasingly. In this paper, an organization structure of integrated programme management mode is proposed according to the characteristics of information flow in the execution of programme. Based on the theory of information entropy, an information entropy model of organization structure is constructed. Several different organization structures are analyzed and compared by the model and the suitability of integrated programme management organization structure is confirmed.
