The development of housing industrialization in our country in view of integrating concept

Relevant researchers of United Nation have carried out a survey of the situation of housing construction in the world. It is demonstrated after the survey that housing industrialization is the only way of the modernization of housing construction, it has been more than 50 years since the concept of housing industrialization was proposed in China early in the first five-year plan period. However, housing industrialization has not developed substantially as there are still many problems to be solved urgently, such as low labor efficiency in housing construction process, the slow pace of overall technological progress, considerable resource consumption and serious environmental pollution. The housing industrialization must adhere to an effective and sustainable development in order to promote the fundamental conversion in housing construction from extensive and quantitative to intensive and qualitative. The modernization level of housing industry is mainly reflected in the extent of the production industrialization, components commercialization and site-assembly, and in reducing or even avoiding the wet work at site as well as achieving the site assembly of housing (including the interior decoration). Thus, the development of contemporary housing industrialization should be based on the concept of integration with drawing on the experience of the new and high-tech and manufacturing industrialization, and the content involved should be more extensive and in-depth. The concept of integration includes four aspects, which are information integration, physical integration, functional integration and production process integration. The information integration, which is the key to the development of industrialization, leads to the integration of the whole industrial system. in this paper, the definition of industrialization in our country is introduced. Secondly, the relative experiences in the developing process of the housing industrialization abroad and manu facturing industrialization are discussed. Thirdly, industrialization integration system is proposed and elaborated based on the integration theory. At last, aimed at “final products”, the framework of the housing industrialization and some implementing proposals are suggested in order to achieve demand-oriented market including the mode changes from the piecemeal and manual operation to the integrated industrial production, from simplified pre-fabrication to mass customized.
