Since there exist nonlinear, weak observability and poor measurement precision in single station passive tracking, except for searching for proper filter algorithms, this paper researches on the influence of flexible maneuver of observer on passive tracking. In this paper, bearing rate is used, three different filtering methods of extended Kalman filter (EKF)[1], unscented Kalman filter (UKF)[1] and particle filter (PF)[1] are compared through numerical simulation in two different scenes, separately Constant Velocity motion and dive motion of observer. The simulation results indicate that flexible maneuver of observer can improve tracking accuracy and in which occasion, it reaches the highest precision with the use of PF algorithm.
