Execution Strategy Investigation Using Soft Constraint-Based Simulation

Nowadays, planning of outfitting processes is insufficiently considered. Consequently, on siteprocesses are characterized by interferences and disturbances. An in-depth investigation ofoutfitting processes is expedient to improve outfitting execution. Scheduling of outfitting processesis rather based on planners' experiences than on an intensive comparison of execution alternatives.Therefore, outfitting planning is based on personal professional experience transferred from formeras-built execution solutions on upcoming projects. However, a multitude of different strategies forexecution exist; their eligibility has to be weighted up considering project requirements. This paperfocuses on an expedient representation of execution strategies such as "Avoid soiling","Adjacency", "Length ordering" and "Strain-" as well as "Quality observance". A formalizationof the strategies is necessary to reuse existing know-how and to investigate strategies' suitability inupcoming projects. Such preferences in construction planning, which have not to be fulfilledcompletely but should be as far as possible, are at best represented using soft constraints. Differentkinds of soft constraints such as fuzzy, weighted and k-weighted are presented and applied forrepresentation of selected strategies.
