@@Nonradiative energy transfer (NET) and rheology were used to investigate the chain contraction and aggregationof polystyrene in solvents with various molar volumes near Θ temperature. Swelling of globules in the heatingprocess was also studied. Our results revealed that when the temperature decreased from above , chains innormal-sized solvents ( decalin, cyclohexene) PS followed multi chain contraction while in middle-sized solvent(dioctyl phthalate, DOP for short) the polymer chains did not show evidence for inter-chain contraction.Swelling of globules confirmed the above results and were consistent with the computer simulation predictions.Rheoiogy experiments were also performed to support NET results.
