摘要

Field Science Center, Tohoku University is located in the west side of Miyagi Prefecture in Japan and situated in mountainous area. The site has been used for experimental farm and forest of the university since 1947. The experimental farm and forest consists of natural and artificial forest, grass field, cultivated field and others. Considerable researches have been conducted in each time and place within the center. In addition, remote sensing and GIS studies have been performed recently. Those gathered data are stored in database for building up Digital Field Science Center. In the studies, we made vegetation maps from data since 1960s for contribution to Digital Field Science Center, comprehended plants transition and analyzed these maps. We divide the period into three terms, 1960s and 2000s, and draw vegetation maps with each term. We compare those maps about existence, type and scale, and detect the changes. Used data are as follows: remote sensing data such as aerial photograph and aerial hyper spectral data (AISA), existent GIS data from Geographical Survey Institute of Japan etc., field survey data such as vegetation and growing survey and so on.
