Trajectory Design of the KuaFu Mission

KuaFu Project is presented by the Chinese scientists, which aims to discover the causality between solar atmosphere and environment of near-earth space, and to reveal the coupling mechanism of the energy between Sun and Earth. The project composes of three satellites: KuaFu-A, KuaFu-B1 and KuaFu-B2. KuaFu-A will be launched into the Halo Orbit around the Sun-Earth libration point-L1. Its mission is to observe the solar extreme ultraviolet and far-ultraviolet radiation, white light corona material ejection, radio beam, magnetic field, high-energy particle, etc.. KuaFu-Bl and KuaFu-B2 will be launched into an elliptic polar orbit around Earth with a half period phase difference. They will continuously observe the aurora borealis and Earth's inner magnetosphere. For observing cooperatively the space weather incidents in the next peak of solar activities, all these satellites are scheduled to be launched around 2012.This paper emphasizes on orbit design of KuaFu-A Explorer. Firstly, a Halo orbit is chosen by analyses of the orbit dynamic model. Then the orbit parameters and strategy of orbit maintenance is designed. Finally, an example is applied to testify the modification method of launch error and strategy of orbit maintenance.
