摘要

Magneto-rheological(MR)damper is one of promising devices for semi-active control,there are many successful examples in the vibration suppression of mechanical and civil structures.In this paper,a kind of MR damper is proposed,with the characteristics of inner bypass working mode and magnetic bias,which enables the damping force change bi-directionally,and is potential to eliminate the flow block in the high current excitation.Consequently,good steering stability and fail-safe performance can be ensured when utilized in vehicles.The prototype of the new MR damper is designed,manufactured and tested for the verification of the effectiveness.
