Bypass channel type magneto-rheological fluid damper

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bypass channel type magnetic viscous fluid damper capable of easily attaching and detaching a magnetic body shaft without removing a damping force generating mechanism from a cylinder.;SOLUTION: A damping force generating mechanism 5 of a bypass channel type magnetic viscous fluid damper 1 includes a casing 8, an electromagnet assembly 9 on the inside of the casing and a magnetic body shaft 10 which penetrates the electromagnet assembly. The casing 8 has connection channels 12b and 13b communicated with fluid channel ports 2a and 2b and is fastened to the outside of the cylinder 2. The electromagnet assembly 9 is a cylindrical body having a coil 19 and a yoke 20 and the magnetic body shaft 10 forms a circulation gap 22 between the electromagnet assembly 9 and the magnetic body shaft 10 and is supported by the casing 8. The casing 8 includes bypass holders 12 and 13 and cover members 14 and 15. The bypass holders 12 and 13 have connection channels 12b and 13b. The cover members 14 and 15 are air-tightly fastened to outer lateral surfaces of the bypass holders 12 and 13 with bolts 16 and 17 and are fitted to the edge part of the magnetic body shaft 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
