This paper presents an analysis of two types of seal between the piston and cylinder in the hydraulic motors with finite element method and ANSYS software. The distortion, stress and their distribution of the seals in various pressures are calculated, and their equivalent stresses are compared. The result shows that in the lower working pressure, both of the two types of seal have a good sealing capability. However, with the increase of working pressure, the sealing capability of the Expanding Seal is better than that of the Combination Seal. Meanwhile, the Expanding Seal can make an automatic compensation when it is worn.
