Geological Anomaly as Fundamental Characteristic of Singular Mineralization Processes

Geological anomaly targeted for mineral deposit prediction can be characterized by singularity of non-linear mineralization processes. Associating singularity and geological anomaly makes it possible to quantitatively study geological anomaly with modern non-linear theories and methods. This paper updates on the recent progresses in singularity analysis of non-linear mineralization processes and mineral deposits prediction. Mineral deposits as the products of singular mineralization processes can be characterized by means of fractal or multifractal models. It has been shown that singularity can characterize the degree of geo-abnormality which has been demonstrated useful for mapping anomalies for undiscovered mineral deposits and that study of mineralization and mineral deposit from nonlinear process point of view is a promising research direction. The paper emphasizes on the relationships between geo-anotnaly and singularity including singular processes resulting singularity and geo-anomaly, characterization of singularity and geo-anomaly and identification of geo-anomalies for mineral exploration.
