Application of Statistical Analysis to Quantitative Research on Oreforming Diversity——A Case of Mesozoic granites in the Da Hinggan Mountains
Ore-forming diversity constitutes a characteristic feature of mineralized geologic bodies in a complicated metallogenic system. Currently, the difficulty of ore-forming diversity research is the quantification of metallogenic characteristics. In this paper, the authors try to use statistical analysis to approach the quantification of ore-forming diversity. They also discuss a case history concerning mineral type diversity related to Mesozoic granites in the middle-southern segment of the Da Hinggan Mountains, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China. Based on lithochemical components and petrologic indexes, through statistical analysis, three ore-controlling rock bodies are identified implying important geological significance. The case history shows that the results of statistical analysis can be notably different in terms of principal factors. Therefore, this difference can be regarded as a useful quantitative expression for differentiating between mineral types.
