The world traditional medicine patent database (WTMPD) is a deeply-processed bilingual (Chinese/English) patent database, which contains over 80,000 patents associated with natural medicines and their extracts collected from 20 countries and international organizations since the year 1985. All of the patent literatures in the database are deeply indexed to increase the recall and precision rates. Several auxiliary databases are provided to offer precise search and classification search such that professional search tasks are made convenient and easy. Search types supported by the WTMPD include not only fundamental ones, such as simple search, form search, complex logic search, but powerful professional functions including multi-database search, cross-database search, thesaurus search, mixed bilingual search, formula search, formula similarity search, and chemical structure search, and the searched results can be further analyzed statistically.
