技術試験衛星VIII 型(ETS-VIII)搭載オンボードプロセッサ（OBP）初期機能試験結果報告

摘要

The on-board processor (OBP) carried in the engineering test satellite VIII (ETS-VIII) is a switchboard for voicecommunications. It used multi-carrier time division multiple access to support a high-capacity voice communication.Most functions (filtering, switching, the Carrier composition, and reproduction) are performed by digital signalprocessing. Moreover, equipment size and power consumption are reduced by using ASIC technology. The operationmode of OBP is roughly divided into wait mode, normal operation mode, and download mode. OBP shifts to normaloperation mode by downloading software from an earth station, and the switching function is controlled autonomously bysoftware (call management, user management, and OBP management, as well as by using statistical and logistical data).In initial check-out, the command and telemetry of OBP, a setup of time alignment for TDMA, and establishment ofconnection of a communication channel in standby mode, and measurement of communication quality, download ofnormal operation software, a communications protocol function in normal operation mode, etc. were checked.Initial check-out of OBP was performed. As a result, the almost same data as the data acquired by the ground test isacquired, and it is thought that the operation and the function of OBP are normal. This paper reports the result of initialcheck-out of OBP on an orbit.
