RADAR and CRISP - Standard Tools of the European Commission forremote and unattended data acquisition and analysis for nuclear safeguards

Modern software packages for unattended, automatic measurement and analysis of safeguardsrelevant data are presented. RADAR (Remote Acquisition of Data and Review) is applicable to virtually allrelevant installed sensors applied by nuclear inspectors in the field and CRISP (Central RADAR InspectionSupport Package) analyses large amounts of data in automatic or semiautomatic ways. The remote transmissionof data is inherently built into RADAR and used on sites. The transmission to headquarters has been successfullytested. The data acquisition systems are implemented in all large facilities within the European Union with aparticular focus on facilities handling direct use material in bulk form. RADAR also helps to acquire data in anumber of storage locations and contributes to save inspector resources in spent fuel loading campaigns. Severalimplementations are in shared use with the IAEA. Future aims are discussed.
