The physical nonlinear factor is denoted by the sum of linear item and cube item and dynamic equation with nonlinear elastic shaft rotor system is set up, as the result of the more complicated nonlinear dynamic characteristics of rotor system with nonlinear elastic shaft. Nonlinear dynamic responses were analyzed by multi-scale method and numerical method. The system motion is similar to linear vibration system in non-resonance state-vibration;free vibration term and forced vibration term coexist in steady state vibration when the main-resonance and sub-harmonic resonance occur; the hard characteristic or soft characteristic may appear and may cause jumping phenomenon. The conclusions may help to safety running of rotor system with this kind of characteristic.
