Design process of planetary stepless transmission with ring cones for exciter of vibrancy fire grate is discussed in this article. After simply introducing the principle of this kind of stepless transmission, we comprehensively analyze force and load capacity of transmission components. Based on our analysis, the relationships between transmission ratio and some parameters (including actual output torque, actual forces, actual contact stress, admissible output torque, admissible normal pressures of planet cones and input disk, speed controlling ring and output disk) are obtained. Then their corresponding curves are drafted. According to traction transmission theory, transmission components are designed under elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication status, while traction oil is selected. Furthermore, oil film thickness ratios in ellipse contact area of transmission components at point A, E and B are 7.7, 9.1 and 6.5 respectively while the rotate speed of exciter of vibrational fire gate varies from 500 to 550rpm.
