Talk Freely about the Development of LNG Community Gasification in China

China is one of the earliest countries utilizing gas. However, the produced output of gas in the whole country is only 1.286 BCM in 1984.Since 1990s, there was a fast development in gas exploration and utilization in China. In 1994, the gas output was up to 7.45BCM, and in 2001, the total consumption of gas was 25BCM, which was 2.1% in primary energy sources consumption structure, far lower than 23% of the world level, and, at the same time, lower than 8.8% of average level of Asia. Per capita consumption of gas is about 400CM in the world, but in China, per capita consumption of gas is only 18CM.In 2005, the total consumption of gas was 30BCM in China, which was 3% in primary energy sources consumption structure. In order to improve the percentage of gas in primary energy sources consumption structure from 3% now to 7% in 2010, it is hard for China to meet the need of the market only relying on internal sources, considering time, volume and distribution. So it is very necessary to import foreign gas timely, moderately and reasonably as supplement to internal sources.
