After a short description of the SOHO/SWANhydrogen absorption cell and its principle, we show themain characteristics of the cell data. The cell isabsorbing a fraction of the Ly-alpha emission due tothe interstellar neutral hydrogen flow within the solarsystem. We illustrate and model the evolution of theso-called Zero Doppler Shift Cone along the Earth’sorbit. We then describe the SWAN data analysismethod we have recently developed for the interstellarwind direction determination. This method isindependent of the H-cell characteristics and aging, andis extremely weakly sensitive to radiative transfer lineprofile broadening.
