A Method for Calculating Joint Failure Probability of Series Structural Systems

In the present paper, a point estimation method for calculating joint probability of every two failure modes of series structural systems is proposed Based on calculation comparison, it can be seen that (1)the calculation results of the narrow bound method are good and the integration results are located between the lower bounds and upper bounds; (2) when the correlation coefficient, ρ = 0 or ρ = 1, the present method gives accurate solutions, and when 0 ＜ ρ ＜1, the calculation results of the present method are close to the integration results.
