Performance Assessment for Conceptual LLW Repository in Korea

摘要

A conceptual design of a low- and intermediate-levelwaste (LILW) repository in Korea is presently being developedat Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., Nuclear EnvironmentTechnology Institute. It is of particular importance tofind an optimum arrangement of the waste vaults in the repositoryto minimize the radionuclide release into the environment,and to find out which radionuclides are of most concern fromthe viewpoint of repository performance. A model that canshow the effects of the repository design on the performanceis needed for this purpose.
