To research the kinetic behavior of the secondary reactions of FCC gasoline, the 8-lumping kinetic model was proposed based on the experimental results. In this model, the reaction system was cut into dry gas lump (DG), liquefied petroleum gas lump (LPG), light cycle oil lump (LCO), coke lump (COKE) and gasoline lump (GL) in accordance with the product structure of commercial fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU); the lump GL could be cut into paraffin lump (GP). Olefin lump (GO), naphthene lump (GN) and aromatic lump (GA) further according to the hydrocarbon group structure. The proposed method employed a particle-swarm-optimization (PSO) technique to search for the optimal kinetics parameters. In this method, each agent (called particle) in the population is a set of parameter. The particle flies through the multi-dimensional solution space by certain rules to search for the optimal point, which is a set of optimal parameters. Using this method, the kinetics parameters for the 8-lump kinetic model of the secondary reactions of FCC gasoline were successfully estimated. The calculated results using the parameters obtained from the PSO method agree well with the experimental data.
