Mardi Gras Transportation System Overview

This paper presents a technical overview of BP's Mardi Gras transportation system project. The Mardi Gras pipeline system, operated by BP America Inc. and under construction in the Gulf of Mexico, is setting new standards for large diameter, deepwater pipeline design and construction. The project includes new oil and gas pipeline networks in two deepwater areas of the Gulf of Mexico where there is no existing pipeline infrastructure. The pipelines range in size from 16" to 30" in water depths up to 7,300 ft.
