Based on the cantilever beam physical system with piezoelectric ceramics as actuator and resistance strain gauge as sensor, model of the system was identified with the optimized multi-sine identification input signal and the frequency domain maximum likelihood method. Digital and physical control simulations were made in order to validate the identified model. Good vibration suppression effects show that frequency domain maximum likelihood estimator is effective for model identification of the flexible structure.
