Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is a kind of acute respiratory contagious disease, which spread in China and other areas of the world from the last winter up to now. SARS is a deadly disease characterized of strong infectivity, critical clinical symptoms, fast progress, and great hazardous. Until the June 10, 2003 WHO proclaimed the global cases of SARS were 8 421, while 784 died, and the mortality is 9.31% . In China, total SARS cases were 5 328, 343 died, the mortality was 6.445% ; in Beijing, the SARS cases were 2 522, 186 died and the mortality is 7.38%. In the Beijing Friendship Hospital, 69 cases of SARS were treated. Since the implementation of integra-tive treatment, 60 cases were studied totally, and divided into two groups: the traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine group (TCMM), and modern medicine group (MM).
